Coach Dan Mullen and his staff at Mississippi State are enjoying some vacation time with friends and family after a busy month of June that saw the Bulldog staffers facilitate 15 days of summer camp on their own campus as well as participate in several satellite camps throughout the southeast.

Two time Mississippi State signee Dontea Jones had the chance to open and close out the 2015 calendar year with official visits to Starkville. After coming up just shy of NCAA Clearinghouse muster, Jones enrolled at Jireh Prep in Matthews, North Carolina for the fall semester. After a strong showing in the classroom, Jones was granted clearance to enroll at Mississippi State.

Mississippi State signed 18 football players for the 2016 signing class, three of those players line up at tight end. One of the more intriguing signees at that position, Jordan Thomas, is slated to enroll in June for the first summer school sessions.

The signing period for mid-year transfers begins on Wednesday. The Mississippi State Bulldogs are expected to add a few of newcomers to the spring football roster. Two junior college transfers will put ink to paper on the first day of the signing period making their pledges to Coach Dan Mullen and his staff official.

Louisville, Mississippi native Dontea Jones had the chance to do something most Bulldogs never do, take two official visits to Starkville in one calendar year. Jones took an all expense paid excursion to see the Bulldogs in January and then repeated that feat this weekend.

Tight end Dontea Jones signed with Mississippi State as part of the 2015 signing class. After spending a semester a Jireh Prep in Matthews, North Carolina, Jones plans to sign with the Bulldogs once again. This weekend the Louisville, Mississippi product will be back on campus ready to spend time with his future coaches and teammates.

Mississippi State cleaned up in state when it came to the 2015 in state class. The lone member of that impressive Magnolia State haul not on campus in Starkville is Louisville High product Dontea Jones. Jones was forced to go the prep school route and is currently enrolled at Jireh Prep in Matthews, North Carolina. Needless to say, Jones had had to transition into a new of life.

One of the first big dominoes that fell in Mississippi State's dominant showing for the in state 2015 signing class was the commitment of Louisville standout Dontea Jones. Jones held offers from some of the top teams in the conference, but elected to stay closer to home for his college career. Now slated to play tight end, Jones is eager to complete his coursework and enroll for fall camp.
