Monday Morning Quarterbacking w/ Jed Collins

ALL HANDS on deck! Shore leave has been canceled. Set course for Martin Stadium Bearings 50 degrees North, 4 degrees West! That was the call as Washington State entered the bye week. The crew felt the sense of urgency. A time usually reserved for mostly getting healthy would be replaced by needed maintenance on the ship and a changing in its direction. Saturday night in Pullman we saw a new course being laid in by the Cougs.

WSU scrimmage dominated by defense

PULLMAN – Washington State went through their second scrimmage of fall camp in Martin Stadium today, and boy was it ugly for the offense. Mike Leach was pleased with the performance by the defense today, but was clearly unhappy with the starting offense as he had them doing up-downs on the sidelines when the 2’s and 3’s were getting reps in.

WSU defense looking improved in camp

LEWISTON – Day Four of fall camp had the team suiting up in helmets and shoulder pads for the second day in a row. The defense absolutely dominated the offense today by consistently putting pressure on the quarterbacks and getting in the backfield.

LEWISTON – Day Three marked the first day the Cougs practiced with shoulder pads and helmets. No question the intensity was definitely cranked up from the first two sessions. The defense took full advantage by knocking guys around and swarming to the football. And one Cougar starter had to call it an early day.
