Dustin Geiger spoiled Clayton Kershaw's rehab start with two hits and a pair of RBI off the two-time Cy Young winner, including a double that almost left the park. Rafael Lopez hit a solo homer in the 7th to give Tennessee the 4-3 win. Daytona couldn't avoid a sweep in Lakeland while Iowa and Kane County were both rained out.

Good day for the Cubs affiliates as three teams won—Tennessee, Daytona and Kane County—while Iowa's game at Colorado Springs was postponed. Dustin Geiger's fifth homer paced the Smokies, Willson Contreras' walk-off single propelled Daytona, and Kane County had 14 hits in their sixth straight win.

Yasiel Balaguert extended his hit streak to six games and added two RBI to his league-leading total as Kane County defeated Lake County 6-4. Daytona's woes continued at Tampa and Iowa lost at Memphis 7-5.
