Florida State's defense has proven itself to be one of the nation's best this season. The Seminoles should also benefit in Saturday's game against Maryland from the return of senior end <b>Eric Moore</b> and junior noseguard <b>Brodrick Bunkley.</b> A reserve who has played well and will be ready when needed is redshirt freshman <b>D.J. Norris.</b> Norris, who selected FSU over rival Florida, has made steady progress this season, according to coaches.

All Smiles

<b>D.J Norris</b> could only smile when thinking back on his first day of conditioning at Florida State last summer. Norris, who has gained more than 20 pounds but has dropped body fat since last year, is looking to make a contribution at defensive end this season. Of course, Norris also knows what FSU's newcomers are feeling now as the Seminoles returned to the practice fields for conditioning drills Monday night.

All the athletes have returned home from the final official visit weekend of the recruiting season. Signing Day won't take place until Wednesday. And an NCAA mandated "Dead Period" has settled over the recruiting landscape. <br><br>But with at least five (or so) slots left to fill, Tide fans have plenty to speculate about.
