ALL IT TOOK was just about 90 seconds. During that key stretch midway through the second half, Oregon State vs. Colorado went from a back-and-forth, one-point game to OSU suddenly trailing by eight. OREGON STATE WAS up eight points in the second half at Cal and looked strong on Sunday. They had just put together one of their better offensive runs of the season. But they followed it up with one of their worst on defense and the roof caved in quickly. OSU's zone defense was effective for long stretches, but it completely broke down during an 18-0 second-half run by Cal and OSU lost 73-56.

GARY PAYTON II did it all against Colorado in the Beavs' 72-58 win. The guard has confounded opponents and the media all year with his ability to gain rebounds but you really don't expect him to get a lot of blocks - he's a guard, after all. But Payton II not only did, he set the school record for most blocks in a single game.
