To remember one of the best Michigan State squads, Spartan Digest brings you Spartan 52 for 2016. Why “52”? To remember the 1952 team coached by Clarence Lester “Biggie” Munn that went 9-0 winning a National Championship by being voted No. 1 in both the AP and Coaches’ polls. Munn was also named the AFCA Coach of the Year. So to start our official countdown to the season we announce the 52 most important Spartans for 2016.

Michigan State picked up a big commitment from a Texas OL last week. We take a look at his film and what he brings to the Spartans
Scout.com has had lots of activity in the Midlands region. Today, we look at a few recruiting notes from athletes in the Greater Houston area from last week and the early portions of this current week.
On a trip to visit family, the Houston OL stopped in East Lansing and picked up an offer. On Wednesday night, he verbally committed to the Spartans.
The dance card (scholarship offers) for Houston Kinkaid offensive line prospect Tyler Higby is fairly crowded but the 6-4 1/2, 285-pounder has narrowed his choices to Oklahoma State, Michigan State and LSU. Good company the Cowboys are keeping and the list of schools out includes Baylor, Arkansas, TCU, Miami, Mississippi, and Louisville. Oklahoma State got an unofficial visit on Monday.
