Defensive end Bruce Irvin is the latest in a line of West Virginia football players that made the leap from star to folk hero in the Mountain State, but he's just one of a number of players WVU fans have taken to heart during their careers. We caught up with one of his predecessors, Wes Ours, and found that he's truly living the dream following a solid Arena League career.

<b> LATROBE –</b> Jeff Hartings missed a second consecutive day of practice with his sore left knee and Steelers Coach Bill Cowher listed him as questionable for Saturday's preseason opener at Detroit. <br><br> That leaves the door open for Chukky Okobi, a third-year center and former fifth-round draft pick who's being groomed to fill Hartings' shoes one day. Okobi feels that day may have come.

Jeff Reed made 17 of 19 field goals as a rookie last season to finish second in the NFL in field-goal percentage behind Adam Vinatieri. <br><br> Reed obviously is quite accurate but he may not even be the most accurate kicker on his team this summer. His competition at training camp, former Groza Award winner Jonathan Ruffin, put on a display of accuracy Monday afternoon that might rival any kicker in the NFL -- Vinatieri included.
