Usually early in the season, whether it be camp or the actual season, the defense is ahead of the offense. Entering Day Eight of Fall Camp 2006 it has been the opposite for the Cats as the offense has looked to be there better overall unit so far. It appears as though the defense had had enough of that as they flexed some serious muscles and showed the offense who was boss.

The Wildcat linebacking corps looks to be the most talented spot on the defense next season. Last season they had a lot of talent, but also suffered a freak string of injuries. One of those backers, and one of the leaders of the group, is Dane Krogstad. Krogstad was as good as any defender on the team last year, but only when he was healthy. Today was the Wildcats' annual media day. Due to the new NCAA mandated practice limitations, media day occurred over a week into training camp. This gave Head Coach John Mackovic a chance to evaluate his troops before addressing the press.

Speakers blasted the University of Arizona fight song, and colored balloons lined the doorway leading into the football offices at McKale Center.<p> All of this welcomed the reporting rookies at 10 A.M. and more importantly signaled the beginning of football season for the Wildcats.<p>
