If Kentucky coach Billy Gillispie had his way, his roster would have tall, athletic players with great skills and IQ levels. While he's not quite ready to say when he thinks he can achieve that goal at UK, he's made it clear that he likes the players he has on his second team.

Cats jumped a lot of hurdles to reach tourney

During the first cold, bleak days of January nothing in the Commonwealth looked bleaker than the SEC regular season prospects of the Kentucky Wildcats. At that time an invitation to play in the NCAA Tourney seemed to be a pipe dream. On Thursday Billy Gillispie's Wildcats will take on Marquette in the opening rounding of the NCAA tourney. The Wildcats overcame a lot to get to this point.

Kentucky Senior Day reflection

Senior Day is always a special day at the University of Kentucky. Sunday's Senor Day in Rupp Arena was even more special than normal. Kentucky coach Billy Gillispie introduced the seniors after the game, and gave each an opportunity to speak to the Rupp crowd.

Kentucky edges Florida 75-70

Winning is a Senior Day tradition at Kentucky, today was no exception. Perry Stevenson's 16 points, 10 boards & 5 blocks keyed the Wildcats as they built a double-digit second half lead, then held off a Florida comeback to notch the victory. The Wildcats improved to 12-4 in the SEC, and 18-11 overall, while going undefeated at home in league play.
