Backup options dwindling for Seahawks

Training camp is just around the corner and for the past two seasons it's been no secret that the Seattle Seahawks have been looking for a veteran backup for Matt Hasselbeck. It isn't that the team doesn't like Seneca Wallace, Hasselbeck's backup in 2005, they just want to opportunity to use his athleticism in way other than carrying a clipboard.

AFCE Inside Look: New York Jets

The New England Patriots play the New York Jets for the second and last time in the 2005 season. The game marks what is likely to be the end of a couple of things in Jets land, including Jay Fiedler, Vinny Testaverde and Ty Law's time with the club. The Jets have cap issues, and Law looks to be too expensive a luxury for what is certain to be a rebuilding year in 2006, even though he was the only Jet to make the Pro Bowl.

Law's Return Not So Special

Former New England Patriot Ty Law was surprisingly low-key when he made his return to Foxborough. Law signed a free agent contract with the New York Jets after being released by the Patriots in the offseason. His return turned out to be more hype than fireworks. Law missed portions of the game to rest his injury, allowing some of the Jets other players a chance to show their stuff. Coach Herman Edwards liked some of what he saw in the young DBs.
