The Carolina Panthers will enter the preseason with their kicker and punter positions both up in the air. That's an oddity around here. For the better part of 18 years the Panthers have enjoyed incredible stability with kicker John Kasay and punters Jason Baker and Todd Sauerbrun.

Safety Deon Grant said that the Seahawks defense is finally playing the way he thought it would. "The defense that I promised a lot of people before the season started, we're finally getting it together," he said. "We've just got to keep on going and keep building off of that."

It took almost a year, but the Seattle Seahawks finally put together a two-game win streak. Seattle hadn't won two straight games since defeating the St. Louis Rams and the New York Jets in back-to-back games at the end of the 2008 season.

Seahawks get last-second win over 49ers

Seattle has struggled all season to be a consistent ball club, but on Sunday in front of a sold out Qwest Field, the Seahawks got consistently stingy defense and solid special teams while coming away with a nail-biting 20-17 win over the San Francisco 49ers who were playing for their playoff lives.
