Since he had just finished up at the Washington Rising Stars camp, we took some time out to talk with Zach Banner, a 6-foot-9, 300-pound offensive lineman from Lakes High School in Lakewood, Wash. He talked about the camp, going up against Austin Seferian-Jenkins, basketball and what he needs to do to become one of the dominant linemen for the class of 2012.

LAKEWOOD, Wash. - It sounded like a play straight out of 'Varsity Blues' - the ol' Hook and Ladder. It was the play where Billy Bob caught a pass and staggered across the end zone with four defenders on his back. Zach Banner knew that feeling; he did the same thing as a third-grader while playing fullback in his league's championship game.

When Lincoln Kennedy arrived in Seattle three years ago to be inducted into the Husky Hall of Fame, he gave an acceptance speech straight from the heart. Keith Gilbertson, who had been Kennedy's line coach, was on his way out as Head Coach at Washington. Kennedy addressed the assembled crowd at Hec Ed, urging the need for a new coach that, "Understands what it means to be a Husky."

Lincoln Kennedy is overweight, probably out of shape, and 35 years old. Still, he might be the best offensive tackle on the Cardinals right now if they signed him, and it looks like an Arizona audition for the retired former Pro-Bowler could be happening as soon as Friday.
