Chargers Release Wiley, Others

Six players were released and four others were not tendered offers, allowing all of the players to become Unrestricted free agents on Wednesday. TE Stephen Alexander, RB Antoineo Harris, DE Raylee Johnson, T Vaughn Parker, C Cory Raymer and DE Marcellus Wiley were released while G Michael Keathley, WR Tim Baker, WR Dondre Gilliam and G David Brandt were not tendered offers. Johnson and Parker requested to be released and the team obliged.

Chargers Review: OT

The offensive line as a whole was bit by the injury bug and it never let go. Two players eventually saw injured reserve, while countless other man games were lost to the spreading virus. Rookies eventually manned the offensive tackle position and earned some stripes, but what was perceived as a strength heading into the season was left shaking thru the flu season.

And then there were 11

Eleven San Diego Chargers players have been sent to injured reserve this year with the latest addition being Courtney Van Buren. The rookie suffered ligament damage to his knee in Sunday's loss to Green Bay. Van Buren is the fourth offensive lineman to be placed on IR this year. Former Charger Ed Ellis was signed to take his spot.
