Patriots Release 10 and Trade One

FOXBORO, Mass. -- The New England Patriots announced the release of ten players today as they worked to reduce the roster to meet a league limit of 53 by Saturday. New England also traded rookie running back Patrick Cobbs to the Pittsburgh Steelers for an undisclosed draft pick Cobbs, a preseason playmaker was unlikely to clear waivers should the team have made the attempt.

Patriots Comings & Goings

The Patriots' struggle to address team depth has taken on another twist as news emerged that linebacker Tedy Bruschi will be sidelined for a month or more. Bruschi broke a bone in his wrist, and reportedly will undergo surgery to repair the injury on Wednesday. The team also made two roster moves Tuesday, signing WR Eddie Berlin and trading OL Ross Tucker to Cleveland for draft pick.
