Despite falling 23-10 on Saturday, Detroit was able to evaluate several players and gave their backups long minutes in this one. While Cincinnati did move the ball against Detroit's first teamers, they were only able to get three field goals from Neil Rackers. Once the backups were in, they were picked apart by Bengal rookie Carson Palmer, giving Mariucci and the coaching staff something to use to make the tough personnel decisions ahead. It's not every year the Lions release a player that's generally regarded as a solid player. However this year, it's likely to change. The Lions have a plethora of potential at the running back slot. And when roster cuts come and the dust settles, the Lions will probably be without a RB that they would normally jump at the chance at acquiring.
