Lions release Elliss, Stewart and Schroeder

The release of Elliss was expected, the only consideration was if the Lions would release him now, or wait until June 1 to avoid have the pro-rated portion of his signing bonus accelerate into this year's salary cap. They decided to move now.

Stewart Feels Teammates' Pain

Running back James Stewart will miss the entire season because of a dislocated shoulder suffered in the final preseason game Aug. 28 against Buffalo. That doesn't mean he's not feeling his teammates pain in their 1-5 season, however.

Lions Stewart ruled out for the season

The Detroit Lions today put running back James Stewart on the injured reserve list ending his season. The move today solves many roster issues and most likely ends the Detroit-tenure of the classy Stewart who was never too busy to talk or help out in the community.
