This story was intended to delve into and discuss all the Giants free-agent signings this offseason. However, after RB Dominic Rhodes walked into and out of Giants Stadium on March 2, the first day of free agency, the Giants' precedent was set. There was not to be a whole lot going on.

A day after Big Blue whittled its roster down to the final 53 – sending Jesse Palmer, Mike Cloud, Kevin Lewis, Mark Jones and Wayne Lucier packing in the process – New York established its 8-man practice squad.

After making it through the tragedy of losing his wife and unborn child in 2002, Lewis Kelly, by some accounts, wasn't the same player. With the Vikings adding depth to their offensive line, it was a reluctant Mike Tice who announced Kelly's release Thursday.
Head coach Mike Tice made a hard decision Thursday when he released offensive lineman Lewis Kelly, and his teammates felt the compassion as well. It is a day filled with roster moves and tryouts.
With five players on the offensive line that made every start last year, depth might not seem like a major concern. However, it always is, and the Vikings were working this spring to further develop their second line of depth.
