Pete Mackanin had somewhat of a lame duck status with his contract set to run out at the end of the season if the Phillies didn't pick up the option year on his deal. That duck is now alive and well, with Mackanin holding a new contract extension with the club.

When Lehigh Valley and Reading were eliminated from the playoffs, the Phillies made a few more roster moves. Among them was the addition of outfielder Roman Quinn from AA Reading. Quinn was in the lineup Sunday and could be there a lot.
