Speaking of the poor performance by Pittsburgh's pass defense last season, Cowher said, &quot;A lot people during the season said, 'Oh, they have to do something about their secondary.' Yeah, we missed a few tackles but some of it was what we did schematically, too. Some of it was bad design.&quot;

Maybe it's a good thing for the Pittsburgh Steelers that a war is about to break. Good thing they don't have to carry the news since it would only mean depression for fans expecting more free agency action this off-season, other than slow tight ends, special-teamers, and fourth offensive tackles.

Steelers Have Few Priorities in FA This Year

With the 2003 free agency period set to begin at midnight Friday, don't expect to see as much action in the first few hours as we have seen in past years.<br> <br> Teams just don't have a lot of money to throw around and they've figured out that signing a bunch of stars from other teams isn't the best way to go in free agency.
