The Detroit Lions signed six-year veteran guard David Loverne to fill the hole expected to be opened by the retirement of longtime veteran Ray Brown. Loverne, 6' 3", 299-lbs from San Jose State was on the roster of the St. Louis Rams last season, but despite less than stellar play from that unit, Loverne was only able to get into lineup for one game for the Rams.
