With the release of 11-year Jaguars veteran running back Fred Taylor Monday afternoon, the Jacksonville Jaguars commenced "Operation Rebuild." All signs had been pointing to hints of the Jaguars beginning the rebuilding process when new General Manager Gene Smith said things like, "we are going to look to build through the draft."

The hiring of defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, who likes to blitz opposing quarterbacks, and the trades to draft Derrick Harvey and Quentin Groves in the first two rounds were expected to improve the pass rush. Instead, the pass rush has gotten worse. The Jaguars didn't sack Houston's Matt Schaub once Sunday even though he was sacked eight times in the Texans' first two games.

Congratulations to Jaguars first-round pick Derrick Harvey, for accomplishing the longest rookie holdout in team history, surpassing that of former first-round pick Byron Leftwich in 2003. Seemingly everyone has a take on Harvey's negotiations, and recently Jaguars defensive end Paul Spicer weighed in with his thoughts.
