Patriots Roster Moves: Klecko Among Cuts

FOXBORO, Mass. -- One day after releasing 10 players and trading another, the New England Patriots announced more moves to reach the NFL mandated 53-man limit. The team released 9 players, placed safety Tebucky Jones and linebacker Barry Gardner on IR, and moved FB Patrick Pass to the PUP list. The Patriots also added receiver Doug Gabriel via trade.

Patriots Release 10 and Trade One

FOXBORO, Mass. -- The New England Patriots announced the release of ten players today as they worked to reduce the roster to meet a league limit of 53 by Saturday. New England also traded rookie running back Patrick Cobbs to the Pittsburgh Steelers for an undisclosed draft pick Cobbs, a preseason playmaker was unlikely to clear waivers should the team have made the attempt.

Patriots Minicamp Report: Day One

Patriots Insider Jonathan Comey was at Gillette Stadium for the first day of the New England Patriots' minicamp. The team's 10 Draft picks and 15 undrafted rookie free agents are participating in a two-day camp this weekend. The rookies are eager to please, and have been getting accustomed to the way the NFL works as they go through orientation, drills and instruction sessions with their fellow rookies. PI caught up with a few of the players in the lockerroom.

Vernell Brown - The Face of Florida Football

He wasn't supposed to be back, but the man known affectionately as "The Face of Florida Football" stepped on the field and returned an errant Drew Tate pass sixty yards for his first collegiate touchdown. The play gave the Gators another six points in a game that saw them win 31-24. All Vernell Brown did the rest of the way was record seven tackles, break up a pass, and prove that he was the best cover corner in the Outback Bowl.
