Fabian Walker plans to go about his business, prepare as usual and be ready when called upon again. It might be as soon as Saturday against North Carolina State. Or it might not come again this season. Either way, Walker believes his relief performance at Clemson Saturday night should help prove to the Florida State coaching staff he's capable of leading the Seminoles.

Fabian Walker continues to bide his time, focusing on improving each day in practice. Walker, a redshirt junior from Americus, Ga., believes he's ready to lead Florida State's offense again when needed. Walker also is in great spirits following the recent return of his brother. Antorius Meritt served in the U.S. Army's 3rd Infantry Division since the beginning of the war in Iraq. Meritt attended the Maryland game and will be in the stands Saturday as FSU tangles with Georgia Tech.

When Fabian Walker reflects on his arm strength and throwing motion last season, a wince spreads across this face. His deep throws lacked accuracy. Even short to medium timing routes, once considered Walker's trademark, were spotty at times. Well, Walker is back at full strength, giving the Seminoles a quality backup behind starter Chris Rix. And let's not forget Wyatt Sexton, who continues to impress with his development. "Each of us, we stick together," Walker said.

Fabian Walker is healthy and refreshed. Walker might be entering summer workouts as Florida State's backup quarterback, but he's determined to make a difference this season. Walker says his throwing shoulder is fine and he's losing weight. Click here for all the details. "Going into two-a-days, I am not even going to think about the depth chart, where I am at," Walker said. "All I know is I am going to bust my behind this year."

Florida State's offense was in capable hands during Saturday's scrimmage. Starter Chris Rix was far more functional than flashy. Second-teamer Wyatt Sexton, of course, was the scrimmage star, throwing for a pair of touchdowns and 190 yards. Off to the side watching all the action was Fabian Walker, the Seminoles' starter in last January's Sugar Bowl defeat to Georgia. Click here for an update on Fabian as well as comments from offensive coordinator Jeff Bowden.

It's game day here in New Orleans. FSU versus the Georgia Bulldogs. What should we expect from the Seminoles, who will be under the direction of third-string quarterback Fabian Walker? "We feel like Florida State will do what Florida State does," Georgia defensive coordinator Bryan VanGorder said. "They will do what they've done all year. I don't think you will see much change at all. We think their quarterback (Walker) is a good athlete."

We started the bowl season with a 4-1 mark against the number, with New Year's Eve day picks Iowa State +13, Purdue +3, TCU +4.5, and Fresno State +6.5 pending. But of course the picks are just window dressing. What we really want are the early scouting reports on potential Steelers draft picks, so let's get on with it:
