<b>B.J. Ward</b> is gearing up for his final season at Florida State. And he wants to make it a good one. The athletic Ward, who started all 12 games last season at free safety, led the Seminoles in blocked kicks for a second straight year with three blocked field goals. That raised his career total to a record-tying seven blocks.

<b>B.J. Ward </b>enjoyed a breakout season in 2002 despite being slowed by a shoulder/neck injury and a switch from wide receiver. The athletic Ward has carried that momentum into the team's summer workouts, finishing near the top in testing. Ward also believes the Seminoles' secondary will be much improved from last season. "Last season we were young and people were out there wanting to do their own thing. You can't do that if you want to win. It's a system," Ward said.
