If Thursday's Game Was a New Television Season

What can you say about a game like the Sacramento State game? The Beavers more or less did what they were supposed to do. But, it was hard to tell how good individual players are or how good the team is/will be when they are playing against lower division competition. I think that the time has passed for the Beavers to be playing the Sacramento States of the world in the pre-conference part of their schedule.

Insights Heading into Fall Camp

Speaking with many of the beaver faithful there seems to be a consensus of guarded optimism heading into fall camp. Not many are willing to go out publicly and predict a Pac 10 championship or even a BCS bowl appearance. However, there is that little voice in the back of our collective heads that says "we can win it all!" Not just the Pac 10 title but the Sugar bowl as well.

The second tenure of Mike Riley brings a new, more committed attitude toward special teams play. Riley's focus was evident from the beginning of practice as the Beavers devoted at least 30-45 minutes each day to special teams tasks.
