Playbooks are not the only books being studied by Huskies. Fall quarter is just beginning and they each return to the status of "student-athlete." Monday was the first day of classes so naturally, some players would not make it to the Don James Center. However, several others could not pass up a free lunch and ventured down from campus for a quick bite to discuss their outlook for this week.

If there is one thing about these Washington Huskies, they sure are in a good mood after a well-played game the previous week. Players were scrambling to get their lunches out of the way before they were surrounded with cameras and microphones for interviews. I managed to grab a couple players to talk some football. They were mostly all smiles and some even threw out the occasional one liner.

Keith Gilbertson Press Conference - 09/22

Washington is set to begin their conference schedule this week against the Stanford Cardinal. Stanford is 2-0 on the season after an impressive win over BYU last week and will be looking to get their first win in Husky Stadium since 1975. To discuss the upcoming week, head coach Keith Gilbertson met with the media on Monday to recap Idaho and address the current team concerns and situations.

Huskies pull away in third quarter

Washington scored four unanswered touchdowns to pull away from Idaho 45-14 this afternoon in Husky Stadium. Cody Pickett threw for 236 yards and completed 20 of 29 despite a torn pectoral muscle. Rich Alexis rushed 22 times for 115 yards to lead all ground gainers for the afternoon.

Fall Practice: Day One

It was a day of conditioning and getting feet wet at Husky Stadium as the football guys were back out on the field for the first practice of the fall.

Practice report - 4/24 PM

Spring practices officially ended for the Husky football team on Thursday as the team ran through a spirited two-and-a-half workout. Saturday's Spring Game, scheduled for 12:30 p.m. at Husky Stadium, will conclude spring ball all together.
