U-M Suffers Disappointing Setback at Home

The top ranked UCLA Bruins were too much on both ends of the court for the visiting Wolverines Saturday afternoon. They dominated the Maize & Blue with aggressive defense and efficient offense en route to thrashing the visitors, 92-55.

Bench Sparks Victory Over NIU

Tommy Amaker was looking for his team to fire out of the gates against the northern Illinois Huskies Saturday afternoon. When that didn't happen, he looked to his bench for a spark and they came up big. Once the Wolverines were on track, seniors Courtney Sims and Lester Abram kept the engine going, powering the home team to the 67-52 victory.

Michigan Defeats UMBC to Move to 7-0

Early turnovers had the Wolverines clinging to a two-point lead at the break, but a halftime challenge by Amaker caused the home team to play much better in the second half. When the dust settled, the Maize and Blue had earned a 66-54 victory. Courtney Simms finished with his second double-double of the season.

The Michigan Wolverines got strong efforts in the paint from Courtney Sims and Brent Petway in Wednesday night's match-up with the UW-Milwaukee Panthers. Both players finished with double-doubles, helping Michigan overcome a halftime deficit and earn a 66-59 victory.

The Davidson Wildcats got up on the Wolverines early, but Tommy Amaker's bunch turned up the intensity on defense and on the glass to win their second game of the John Thompson Challenge, 78-68. Dion Harris and Courtney Sims led the way with strong offensive efforts.
