Albuquerque Splits Two With Oklahoma City

Albuquerque broke even with Oklahoma City, losing 1-0 and winning 2-1 on clutch hitting in the final inning. West Tenn smacked Chattanooga (20-29) 11-1 and forced into last place in the North Division. Inland Empire lost 5-4 in 10 innings to Modesto despite a strong start by Josh Wall. In the longest game in Great Lakes history, Peoria won a 7-5 decision in 14 innings.

Padres announce roster moves

San Diego, CA – The San Diego Padres today announced that catcher Josh Bard and left-handed pitcher Shawn Estes have elected free agency after clearing outright waivers. Additionally, right-handed pitcher Dirk Hayhurst has been claimed off waivers by the Toronto Blue Jays and catcher Luke Carlin and infielder Sean Kazmar have been outrighted to Triple-A Portland.

Cameron to DL; Estes contract purchased

San Diego, CA- The San Diego Padres today placed right-handed pitcher Kevin Cameron on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to May 7) with a first-degree right elbow sprain and purchased the contract of left-handed pitcher Shawn Estes from Triple-A Portland.

Shawn Estes was brilliant over seven innings and Brian Myrow and Luke Carlin provided the offense. Ray Chang has a night of perfection and scores the game-winner. Sam Carter has an impressive streak working, but he was the only offense. Justin Baum has been a scoring machine while Ali Solis has an eventful night.
