Weather Keeps Cyclones In For Day

The start of padded practices cannot come soon enough for an Iowa State team that was forced indoors to the tight confines of the Lied Recreation Center Friday afternoon. High winds sent the Cyclones inside for their second day of spring ball, and final tune-up before the pads come on.

Rainy Start to Spring Football

Spring football kicked off in Ames Wednesday afternoon, and Iowa State hit the practice field in shorts for the first of two non-padded practices to open the 15-day session. Despite the rain and cool temperatures that made it tough for some of the offensive skill players, Cyclone head coach Dan McCarney said it was a productive day for his team.
