More times than not, the team trying to gain notice from the well established heavyweights falls flat on its face, taking solace only from the handsome financial reward received for being an easy opponent for the home team.

Six key players from the Fresno State Bulldogs have been declared ineligible to play in the Silicon Valley Bowl on December 31. As the team winds up preparations for their New Years Eve meeting with Georgia Tech, they are facing the realization that they will be doing so without many of the players that were key in getting them to the game.

FRESNO – The Fresno State Bulldogs moved one step closer to becoming bowl eligible by defeating the Tulsa Golden Hurricane 31-12 in a WAC Conference meeting. Fresno State needs two more wins to become eligible for their fourth straight bowl while the Golden Hurricane drop their ninth game in what has become a dismal season.

Reminiscent of last season, the Fresno State Bulldogs follow up a disappointing loss to Boise State with an equally disappointing loss to the Hawai'i Warriors. In front of the smallest crowd in three seasons at Bulldog Stadium and a week following the largest margin of defeat in the Pat Hill era, the Bulldogs (4-5, 2-2 WAC) give up 22 points in the fourth quarter and suffer their first loss to Hawai'i (6-2, 5-1 WAC) in Fresno since 1973, 31-21.
