Quarterback Matt Leinart has been in the NFL for four years, but many people, including some teammates, aren't sure how he'll fare as a starter. Leinart has played behind Kurt Warner the past two years, and his playing time was minimal. When he did play in 2009, he struggled. Leinart long has been a polarizing figure for fans, who seem to either love or hate him.

It's safe to say the 2006 class didn't live up to expectations, but there are a few players who have weathered the storm. While none of the Cardinals fourth-year players will graduate with honors, Arizona's success in 2010 depends on them.

It's amazing how the perception of a team can change 180 degrees in a week. After their victory over the Giants in Week 7, the Cardinals appeared to be on course for another NFC West title. It was their third consecutive victory, their biggest regular-season road win in years, and they were 4-2 with a so-called "easy" schedule ahead.

The Cardinals couldn't run in the second half against the Colts on Sept. 27 because they were down 21-3. They declined to run against the Texans last week, despite being ahead 21-0 at halftime. The Cardinals had just four running plays in the second half and gained only one first down overall.

Coach Ken Whisenhunt fired defensive coordinator Clancy Pendergast at the end of last season because of his unit's inconsistencies and inability to rise up in key situations. But the Cardinals' defense hasn't fared any better under Bill Davis, Pendergast's replacement. The Cardinals at times look like a cohesive unit with enough team speed to give opponents trouble.
