Sharpe will enter fall practice as the first team center ahead of redshirt sophomore Dustin Fry. While Fry outweighs Sharpe by more than 35 pounds, the rising senior has managed to hold down a spot on the first team for 16 of the last 17 games.

"We are more concerned with us and the fact that a win would get us to 8-4 and probably to a better bowl game this year," said Tommy Sharpe when asked about keeping South Carolina out of a bowl game for the second consecutive year. "It would also make us feel better about the season and it would help us out with recruiting for next year."
