It appears coach Ken Whisenhunt isn't going to hand the starting quarterback's job to Matt Leinart. Instead, Whisenhunt is looking for an experienced quarterback who can push Leinart and be a productive starter if Leinart falters or is injured.

Quarterback Matt Leinart has been in the NFL for four years, but many people, including some teammates, aren't sure how he'll fare as a starter. Leinart has played behind Kurt Warner the past two years, and his playing time was minimal. When he did play in 2009, he struggled. Leinart long has been a polarizing figure for fans, who seem to either love or hate him.

Safety Matt Ware is out for the season after suffering a sprained right knee Monday night in San Francisco. This seemingly spells trouble for a Cardinals' defense that is already susceptible to the pass. Ware's replacement, rookie Rashad Johnson, will certainly feel the pressure in the coming weeks.

The Cardinals are ranked 11th in the NFL in offense, but there is plenty of room for growth over the second half of the season. The passing game already is dangerous, and the elements of that threat have been together for some time. What's been lacking is a consistent rushing attack, and the club is showing signs of being on the verge of developing that, too.
