Coach's Corner

My wife and I attended the memorial service for Jessie Lorraine Stair last week and it was an absolutely incredible turnout for support. It was a complete Husky love fest for one memorable Husky basketball fan. Jessie was the daughter of Molly and Bob Rondeau and her father, Marty Stair. She died at twenty years of age.

Dawgman Radio: Mike Jensen

Dawgman Radio caught up with graduating senior Mike Jensen, a player that can truly say he's seen Husky basketball at it's lowest and highest points in the past five years. As the only graduating senior to have been part of two regimes (Bob Bender and Lorenzo Romar), Jensen has an insight into the evolution of Washington basketball that no other player has.

1st-half dogfight becomes 2nd-half Dawg food

With the Washington Huskies riding a six game winning streak and playing the league's worst team for a shot at a regular-season Pac 10 title, this game appeared to be a blowout before the ball was even tipped off. Someone forgot to tell Arizona State, who came out fired up in the first half against Washington, taking a 40-38 lead at the break.

Huskies put the clamps down

It was a day to be cherished by Washington's Senior Class, all the way around. Not only was Sunday Senior Day for Brandon Roy, Bobby Jones, Mike Jensen, Jamaal Williams and Zane Potter, but it was also Senior Day for trainer Brandon Miller. It was also Senior Day for those in the Dawg Pack, a group that had definitely seen the Huskies at their best...and their worst. It's something that didn't slip by UW Head Coach Lorenzo Romar.

Dawg Blog - Stanford

With four games remaining before post-season play begins, the Washington Huskies are right in the thick of the conference championship hunt, just one game behind UCLA and California. Thursday night's tilt with Stanford at Hec Ed is super-crucial if the hoop dawgs hold any hope of reaching the peak of Pac-10 play. Onto the game!

Seniors playing for more than pride

Zane Potter remembers it well, perhaps too well. It was December 6, 2003. The Washington men's basketball team was sent to play a road game against Wyoming. They had just lost to Gonzaga by 24 at home and didn't have much of an identity. Once the game started, it was all Cowboys. Wyoming held a lead as large as 38 points before calling it a day, eventually winning 92-76. That drubbing was followed by another road loss, to Houston. The Hoop Dawgs came home wincing and wounded.
