Former Huskers finding homes after Draft

As hectic as the draft may be, sometimes it's right after the draft where we see some of the most frenetic action of the entire weekend. For some recent former Huskers, it was good news, while some others are still waiting it out. Here's what we know thus far.

Pro Day Audio: Matt Herian

Not being at the NFL Combine can be considered both bad and good for Herian. With all the pressure of that environment, sometimes it's just not the best situation. On campus, in Lincoln and inside of facilities he knows Herian did what he could to do to impress some 30 NFL Scouts. Herian talked about how it went.

Cotton Bowl P.C.: Matt Herian

How many times has senior tight end Matt Herian been asked if he's all the way back to where he used to be? Yeah, too many times to count. In press functions such as this, there's ample time to ask that question and tons more. Herian's been down that road before, but this time around he doesn't look at it being about him. Nicholls P.C: Tight End, Matt Herian

Maybe the "He's back" stories will finally cease now that Matt Herian is indeed finally back. He's gotten a touchdown reception and he's even made a defender miss in the open field. It's back to business as usual for Herian, only wondering if he can be the usual Herian of old. But either way, it's nice to be back in the saddle.

He's now back! Post-game with Matt Herian

How many times has he been asked if he's back? Well, maybe after tonight's record setting performance it's for the last time. Matt Herian came back, catching three balls for 61 yards and one touchdown. Yeah, he's back and he'd tell you it feels pretty good.

NFL Draft '07: Scouting Nebraska

After initially struggling upon arriving in Lincoln, Bill Callahan has the Cornhuskers headed in the right direction. 2006 should be a solid year on the football field and in NFL war rooms for this proud program.

Sound bytes with senior tight end Matt Herian

How many times can one guy answer the same question? I am sure Matt Herian lost count a long time ago. His return seems about as anticipated as any that most can remember. But it isn't so much that Herian himself, nor the coaches, will rush him in, only to watch him get rushed back out. It's a process and it's one, that while frustrating at times, has taught him a lot about how much he really wants to play the game.
