Report: Has Smith Chosen Atlanta?

It's not official yet, but former Eagles tight end L.J. Smith told the Philadelphia Inquirer on March 13 that he has chosen the Atlanta Falcons as his new team. Smith met with the team a week before and was looking at Atlanta and Detroit as his primary options.

It appears that Donovan McNabb has thrown his last pass this season. The Eagles quarterback met Thursday with specialist Dr. William Myers about his sports hernia. McNabb aggravated the injury late in Monday night's 21-20 loss to the Dallas Cowboys when he tried to make a tackle on Cowboys safety Roy Williams, who had intercepted a pass.

Hot Topic & Player Notes: Eagles

Tight end Chad Lewis is ecstatic to be back with the Eagles. The 34-year-old Lewis re-signed with the team on Nov. 10. Lewis caught two touchdown passes in the Eagles' NFC Championship Game win over the Falcons last January, but he suffered a Lisfranc fracture of his foot on the second scoring catch.
