Despite the Mississippi State coaches being in and, mostly, out of the office since the Liberty Bowl, I was lucky enough to catch up with tight ends coach Reed Stringer who was gracious enough to spend time with me reflecting back on the Liberty Bowl game, the practices leading up to the game and how the entire bowl experience helped the MSU football program.

When Mississippi State head coach Sylvester Croom first said he was going to have no curfew the first two nights in Memphis as his team prepared for the Liberty Bowl, that caught many MSU fans by surprise. Let 105 young men out on the streets of Memphis at night - what is he thinking? But unlike Croom they didn't know these kids the way he did. And they responded exactly as he expected they would.

Bully BarkLine, the radio show that is exclusively about Mississippi State athletics that airs every Tuesday night 7-8 at The Little Dooey in Starkville, has a feature called 'Outside The Helmet' which is produced each week by Bully BarkLine guest host Melissa Tomlinson. This past Tuesday, Melissa and I talked with the seniors on the football team.
