Brayden Bell is definitely in a new world this year. The Salt Lake City product has made the long trip from Utah to Ohio State and is the lone true freshman on this year's team. Team policy prohibits players from interviews until after the first game, but we were able to catch up with Bell over the summer and Kyle Lamb filed this article for the September 2005 issue of Bucknuts the Magazine. Check it out in this week's Bucknuts Magazine excerpts.

The Buckeye men's basketball team could be in for a strong season in 2005-06, but it will need a boost from this year's class of new players. Two of those players -- JUCO transfer Sylvester Mayes and Utah forward Brayden Bell -- could contribute for the team right away. Both were out on the floor in the McDonald's Summer League, and we have a video clip today of the two players in action. We also have a four minute video interview with Bell, who talked with reporters about his move to OSU.

Summer league performances don't mean much when it comes to regular season success, but there have been encouraging signs from the new Buckeye players who have been participating. Sylvester Mayes, Brayden Bell and Ron Lewis have all shown positive things, and Mayes in particular was able to impress bystanders. We have a report of last night's action along with some photos of those players and others. Click the link for more.

It's not often that Ohio State brings in an athlete from Utah, but Brayden Bell is ready to make the jump. After signing with Ohio State in November, the 6-9 power forward is preparing to move out to Columbus to start his college career, and he recently took some time to talk with Kyle Lamb about his expectations and thoughts on his upcoming time at OSU.
