On a New Orleans Saints team full of question marks, perhaps the biggest enigma during the preseason has been the unsteady play along the offensive line. And the word 'unsteady' might be too a generous an adjective for what the Who Dat Nation has witnessed through the first three tuneup games this August. Ten-year veteran offensive lineman Zach Strief knows his unit must improve...and do it quickly. Here's Strief on that very topic, from the Saints locker room this afternoon.

With the departure of Jahri Evans, the anchor of the Saints offensive line for the past 10 seasons, it was imperative that general manager Mickey Loomis shored up the offensive guard position. With center Max Unger and tackles Terron Armstead, Andrus Peat & possibly Zach Strief, everywhere else on the line appears set. The Saints have the right of first refusal on two current restricted free agent guards on their roster...and they just came to terms with one of them. For the rest of the story...

This is always a difficult time of year for both the Saints fans and front office alike. No one likes to see the players they've heartily cheered for, get thrown away like yesterday's trash. In the past week, Jahri Evans, Brandon Browner, David Hawthorne and Ramon Humber were told their services were no longer going to be needed in New Orleans. But are those cuts just the tip of the iceberg? Here are a few other Saints players who might want to wait before renewing their leases...
