Say what you want about Cal's mistakes in their 72-68 loss to the UCLA Bruins. But, as Coach Montgomery clearly stated, don't discount the effort. Don't discount Boykin and Gutierrez diving on the floor for loose balls. Don't discount Harper Kamp fighting for offensive boards. But, most importantly, don't discount the Bears letting up on the gas pedal for the final few weeks of the regular season…

Lot on the Line in Final Home Tilt

Thursday night's thrilling overtime victory against USC gave Cal 10 conference wins this season and puts them in position to reach the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2006. Saturday's contest versus UCLA will not only mark the final home game of the season, but even with a year of eligibility left, it marks the final home game for Cal's lone senior, center Jordan Wilkes.

Patrick Leads Cal in OT Win Over USC

BERKELEY – Patrick Christopher represented his jersey number "23" on Thursday night, as he was very "Jordan like" in Cal's gritty 81-78 overtime win against USC. He had his best game of the season, arguably the best game of his college career. He established a new game high in points scored, played stifling defense, and made a huge play in overtime that iced the game.

Bears Drop Second Straight in L.A.

LOS ANGELES - Freshman Demar DeRozan scored a game-high 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting Saturday night to lead Southern California past California, 73-62. Cal (16-6, 5-4) lost for the fourth time in its last five games. Jamal Boykin had 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Bears.

It was a tale of two halves for Cal. In the first half, the Bears held DePaul to 33% shooting from the field, as Cal stormed out to a 39-25 lead at the break. In the second half, DePaul shot 54.8% from the field and the Bears committed twelve turnovers, allowing DePaul to come within one point in the second half.
