Gopher signee Spencer Tollackson has 29 points

Minnetonka (MN) Hopkins upset #2 Chaska (MN) High 79-75 in a season opener for both teams. Hopkins was led by 6-1 Furman signee Jadee Jones, who scored 28 points, including four three-pointers. Jones sank seven of eight free throw attempts in the final 1:42 to seal the victory for the Royals. 6-6 Mitch Henke, who signed with Santa Clara in the early signing period, added 20 points and ten caroms in the victory. Minnesota signee Spencer Tollackson led Chaska with 29 points and 14 rebounds.

Henry defeats Hopkins 66-64 in state champs battle

Minneapolis (MN) Patrick Henry defeated Minnetonka (MN) Hopkins 66-64 in a battle of 2002 state champions. Three-time Class AAA champions Henry led throughout the game, but senior guard Lawrence McKenzie sealed the victory with two free throw with 6.1 seconds left. Hopkins guard Matt Rosenberg's three-point shot with one second left hit the rim and the Royals were unable to grab the rebound.

Laurinburg Institute defeats Hopkins on 3-pointer

6-2 senior Theo Brown hit a three-pointer from the right corner with seven seconds left to lead Laurinburg (NC) Laurinburg Institute to a 67-65 win over Minnetonka (MN) Hopkins. LSU signee Regis Koundjia,held the ball for a last shot and found Brown open for the game winning shot. 6-3 Darren Clarke of Hopkins made a three-pointer for the Royals to put them up 65-64 before Brown's heroics.
