It's going to have to. Or, at least try. With two TEs (Blaine Irby, Josh Marshall) out with season-ending injuries, and with Jermichael Finley's decision to forgo his final two years of eligibility, the rhetoric from Texas coaches is that few expect a significant upgrade at the bare-thin position for the remainder of the season. Instead, coaches intend to tweak other areas of the game plan.

Sophomore TE Blaine Irby's season is done (dislocated knee); Texas coaches have just begun to figure what they can do to shore-up a spot decimated by injuries. Is it wiser to shift personnel or significantly adjust schemes? Or both?

RS-freshman Josh Marshall has moved from WR to TE, Texas offensive coordinator Greg Davis said Monday. But true freshman TE Blain Irby will also get a good a look when the California-product reports this summer.

The state's 7-on-7 Tourney was hotter than a 4th of July firecracker. The kids participating made it through the event with not a single case of heat exhaustion, so it was a huge success in that regard. It was also a success for anyone in attendance in terms of eyeballing some of the state's top football prospects.
