Ticats and Eskimos Make a Deal

The Edmonton Eskimos announced they have acquired import defensive back Jason Goss from the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in exchange for import wide receiver Richard Alston, non-import wide receiver Nicolas Bisaillon, the negotiation rights to quarterback Timmy Chang and a 2nd round selection in the 2007 CFL Canadian Draft which Edmonton acquired in exchange for OL Glen Carson from Toronto last month.

2003 Draft Value Board

Getting closer to the draft, here is our value board for all seven rounds. Extra players have been added in the middle and late rounds in anticipation of compensatory selections, as well as two/three fence prospects in the early frames. We have a total of 263 players on our board, 261 were selected in the 2002 draft.

Scouting Report: Jason Goss

Broke into the starting lineup as a red-shirt freshman and awarded All-Conference honors the past two years. Posted 50 tackles, leading the team with 8 interceptions and 24 pass defenses last season, after 61/3/24 the previous year. Effective punt returner early in his career.

Panthers in Need of a Quality Cornerback

The cornerback position was an obvious weakness for the Carolina Panthers last season. Several players tried their best to man the position but holes were continually exploited by accurate quarterbacks and explosive wide receivers. Although the team finished 4th overall in passing yards allowed per game, there is still a lot of room for improvement.
