GLENDALE, Ariz. -- When Joc Pederson was just three months old, his father Stu played with a man who would become Joc's teammate, coach and mentor -- Shawn Green. The two reconnected several days ago.
It has been a turbulent year so far for the prized outfielder. An injury has slowed his progress and ability to stay at the Major League level, where many had predicted he would remain for most of 2007. Milledge sat down with Inside Pitch to discuss his road back as well as his thoughts on his current role in the organization.
The Mets' intent was to never let the series get back to New York, as much as they've enjoyed playing at home this season and with the built-in cushion of a guaranteed deciding game.
