As it was during Washington's first full spring practice, even the rain didn't dampen Tyrone Willingham's enthusiasm for getting back to the job he loves most - coaching. But when asked for his initial thoughts of his new team on Friday, it became clear that the Huskies' new head man has a distaste for singling out those above the rest.

Tyler Ashby, a 6-5, 300-pound guard from Seattle (Wash.) Ballard, verbally committed to the University of Washington Huskies Monday afternoon, over interest from Oregon and Washington State. Ashby received a scholarship letter from Washington last Wednesday and made his decision this afternoon.

Tyler Ashby is a 6-4, 300-pound lineman from Seattle (Wash.) Ballard, and judging by the amount of literature that has piled up on his doorstep, it would be safe to say Tyler is a coveted player. And even though he plays on both lines for the Beavers, he does have a preference.

It seems like the 2003 class has barely been wrapped up, but it's never too early to take a look at who is going to be the creme de la creme when it comes to next year's high schools studs. This class looks to be deeper and more talented at almost every position across the board, compared to last year. Quality on the line, quarterback and the skill positions is there, and there's no question plenty of the players listed will be Husky targets.
