It was a tradition on the old PacWestFootball site that July was the time for pre-season football rankings. Here's our first look at the top players in the region and since the offense is usually given the most love, we'll start out with the defense this time and look at the top defensive linemen in the region.

Randy Faletoi is a 6-3, 280-pound defensive lineman from Honolulu (Hawaii) McKinley, and Randy is considered the top defensive tackle on the islands this year. It's a bit unusual that the University of Hawaii isn't recruiting Faletoi harder, especially when current Warrior freshman Abu Ma'afala is Randy's second cousin, but he's made it pretty clear that he intends to play his college football on the mainland. And with one offer already from a Pac-10 school, who can argue otherwise?
