Seth Johnston has four hits in a win. Ernesto Frieri walks six, as San Antonio is shelled. Allen Harrington takes his fifth loss. Michael Watt gives up four runs in a no-decision. Jerry Sullivan tosses five scoreless and Nate Freiman and Matt Vern provide offense. Adys Portillo pitches well but gets no support. Adan Velazquez has a big day but the DSL Padres are swept.

Mike Ekstrom continues to hold opponents at bay. Seth Johnston hits a walkoff homer to win it. Matt Clark has been on fire with Lake Elsinore. Blake Tekotte goes yard as he continues to sizzle. David Erickson can't hold a lead in his first blown save. Cameron Monger has the game-winning hit for the AZL Padres. Jean Corpas struggles as a starter.

Padres Prospect Report: June 20, 2009

Matt Buschmann drops his eighth. Lance Zawadzki has six hits and Seth Johnston drives in five. Cory Luebke gets win number eight. Fort Wayne wins two, as Eduardo Perez and Nick Schmidt are stellar while Sawyer Carroll and Adam Zornes do the job at the dish. Pedro Hernandez gives up a grand slam in the Eugene opener and Edinson Rincon has three RBI. Freddys Henrique has a bounce back performance.

Padres Prospect Report: June 13, 2009

Josh Banks continues to perform admirably in Portland. Ernesto Frieri and Tim Stauffer completed the Missions seventh shutout. Ali Solis has become an RBI machine and Bryan Oland is money as the closer. Fort Wayne whittles their magic number to two with a strong Anthony Bass performance. The DSL Padres are pounded 12-1, as Rudi Andujar struggles yet again.

Frieri rolling; Silva, bullpen solid

Walter Silva had a solid rehab start and the bullpen closed the door. Ernesto Frieri had another strong outing and Cedric Hunter seems to be breaking out. Allen Harrington is hammered in two-thirds while Luis Martinez' bat has come alive. Jaff Decker continues to reach base at a solid clip but his homaer is the only run until the ninth.

Eulogio De La Cruz pitched well in his first start in Portland but took a loss. Josh Banks does well but sees a lead disappear. Stephen Faris is battered in a San Antonio loss while Corey Kluber and Matt Teague suffer a worse fate in Lake Elsinore. Brad Brach blows a save but Blake Tekotte comes up with a clutch hit.
