Laybourn Pac-10 Defensive POW for third time

FOR THE FOURTH CONSECUTIVE week, and for the sixth time overall this season, an Oregon State player has received a Pac-10 Player of the Week award. Safety Greg Laybourn earned the defensive Player of the Week nod today -- his third such award for the 2008 campaign -- for his performance in the victory over Arizona.

Beavs surge past Cal, maintain Pac-10 lead

THE BEGINNING served as microcosm for Oregon State's slugfest 34-21 win over Cal -- the Bears came out swinging on special teams. But James Rodgers followed with a bigger punch. Then it was Sammie Stroughter's turn. Indeed, each time Cal gained momentum, OSU answered right back. And when the clock struck zeros, OSU remained in control of their Rose Bowl dreams with two games to play.
