Ohio State head coach Jim Tressel is well-known in football circles for the emphasis he puts on special teams play. He has an ally in that belief in Texas head coach Mack Brown, which means that both teams in the upcoming Fiesta Bowl expect to be solid in the kicking game. If one is not, it could decide the game.

Instead, they were treated to a classic example of what has been termed "Tresselball" -- solid defense and special teams as well as an offense that does not turn the ball over.

Kick Scrimmage Shows Work To Be Done

The annual fall kick scrimmage is a day for the specialists to shine, but the kickers and punters weren't always sharp during the 2008 version. The Gray team, featuring backups Aaron Pettrey and Ryan Pretorius, was able to do enough, thanks to a touchdown off of a fake punt pass, to earn a victory over the Scarlet in Ohio Stadium.

Trapasso An Elder Statesman For OSU

Most players don't reach their fifth spring practice session at a given university, but that's the situation a few OSU football players find themselves in, including A.J. Trapasso. The fourth-year starter at punter said he'd try to use that experience to his advantage this year, while looking forward to a high-profile arrival.
