C-USA Army Preview: Quarterbacks

An area that has featured a great degree of turbulence the past several years will remain unsettled entering preseason camp. Head coach Bobby Ross began spring drills utilizing eight different quarterbacks. Part of that reasoning was to accurately assess the strengths and weaknesses of every player he had inherited from last year's squad, another part was to provide each young man with a fair chance to compete for the starting position.

South Florida 28 Army 0

Army fell to South Florida 28-0 on a rainy day at Michie Stadium as the Black Knights hosted the South Florida Bulls. It was the first meeting on the football field between the two Conference-USA schools. A stingy Bull defense held Army to just 17 yards rushing and 159 passing.

Herbert on Sports Update

FOOTBALL (0-2): Rutgers 36, Army 21. Army Yearling QB Zac Dahman fumbled after being hit by the Rutgers pass rush on our own 5-yard line five minutes into the game and Rutgers recovered in the end zone for a touchdown.

Football: Position Analysis

Here's an update to our position analysis to track the breakdown for the football roster. The players noted are those that have been on the 3 deep roster and incoming freshmen. Please note, we will continually update it as players switch positions, move up the depth chart, attend USMAPS (i.e., John Wright and Caleb Campbell), etc. In addition, we have added USMAPS players Randall and Paladino.

Army 2003 quarterbacks preview

Unlike 2002, when Army began the season with only one quarterback who had seen any action the previous season, Army will be returning four players with experience, two of whom have starting experience, to the fold in 2003. Consistent production from the quarterback position was the most significant shortcoming on the Army football team in 2002. In 2003, Army fans can look forward to an improved overall performance from the quarterback position.
